Winning the Race of Life, Right Now!
Ready, Set, Go!
Simple as 1-2-3… really!
What if winning at life could be as simple as 1-2-3, Ready… Set… GO!
Well, it can be and I’ve found that it is easier than I thought.
Every time my life is going the way I want it to, I find myself following three simple actions, three simple ways of being and I’m always satisfied with the results these principles produce.
No more fighting to get other people and events in my life in line to satisfy me.
No more going against the grain, only to feel as if I’ve accomplished something of value.
No more nose against the grindstone, just to feel discomfort so I feel satisfied.
A new way of being that was always present every time life aligns for me, naturally.
So do you want to race? Great! Let’s go…
1. GET READY… Let your heart be the master.
If we are going to race we will want to know where the finish line is, and why we are racing.
Let your heart set these goals for you.
Let your heart answer the “Why of Life“.
Allow your heartfelt desires, wants and wishes and the expression and expansion of them be your reason for getting on the line, for showing up.
Let the force of your heart be the energy that propels you toward your goal.
Don’t worry about your head, the heart is an excellent master and will always include the head in all decisions.
2. GET SET… Find your balance.
You have heard it many times before, all things in balance.
So there is a state to launch from, to push off from, in any direction, because all energies are ready for you and available for you.
You have heard of this before in many forms, Yin/Yan, Black/White, Positive/Negative.
It is the balancing of these forces in a circular motion that allows their force to be available, to move you in the direction of your focus, and hopefully that focus is through the eyes of your heart.
3. Go… Go and follow the path of least resistance.
When you are following your heart in a balanced way then the path of least resistance will be the one that will be true.
Look for the “Yes” and move away from the “No”.
Feel for the “Yes” in life and when you feel its joy, give gratitude for its reception which will bring you right back to your NEXT, your heart’s desire.
Simple as 1-2-3, Ready… Set… Go, or
Yes, Thank you , Next.
Yes… to receiving what you wanted!
Thank You… to the force that delivered it!
Next… toward your new desire from a new perspective!
You Win!!!

Sometimes the most valuable things in our lives are not “out there” or “someday”.
Most times they are right here and right now.
We need to witness our worths in order to move them into our reality so we can Act on them and release their Appreciation into our lives.
This movement from obscurely aware to full on contact appreciation is the HorsePower of life that releases the gifts right in front of our noses and delivers them into the full light of mattering.
Today was another example of life being as obvious as the nose on my face – the only problem being I rarely notice my nose unless I’m shaving or plucking nose hairs.
I have lived in beautiful Rhode Island for 56 years and have enjoyed my fair share of its natural wealth and beauty. My satisfaction though, has kept me from exploring other opportunities to sense what other gems of the senses are in my back yard.
Not today, Today I acted on my vocalized desire of “Someday” I would like to kayak in Ninigret pond.
At the bridge that crosses over the union of Green Pond and Ninigret pond in Charlestown RI there is a quaint and quite convenient Kayak rental facility that I’ve observed for the past 15 years, always saying, “Someday it would be great to rent one of those Kayaks and explore the pond.”
At 10:30 AM, Katleen and I put on our life vests, mind you the average depth of the pond is only 4 to 6 ft and with todays low tide it was more like 4 to 6 inches in many places. I’m not usually one for the restriction of life vests and today it did not matter because the Act of Appreciation was flowing through everything I was doing.
We got the formal directions from the happy tanned attendant and off we went. We had rented the Kayaks for 2 hours and wanted to see all we could in that time or at least I have a memory of an old story that no longer serves me echoing that in the back of my mind.
What really took place after we went under the bridge was a slowing down of time and an amplifying of appreciation for natures beauty in the place I call home. (Which I’m discovering more and more or as I Act on my Appreciation.)
There is quote from Albert Einstein: ” Nothing happens till something moves”
We were moving and it was happening.
If you told me I was in the Everglades or even Hawaii, I would have said, “here is better, ” because here is home and here is now and here I am and here we are.
The temperature was 79 degrees, the water was clear, the fauna and flora of these two salt ponds were abundant in the form of fish, crustaceans, birds, AND happy smiling humans and their canine aquatic companions.
We kayaked through the channels to the breakwater where the pond emptied into the Atlantic Ocean. We grounded our kayak on a remote sandy shoal that today was abound with many types of water transportation devises carrying more of those happy humans who today also decided to act on their appreciation’s.
After landing our craft of appreciation on the beach we ventured afoot to the Eastern most portion of East Beach. Three miles of beach and 12 people as far as the eye could see.
Warm, clear aquamarine colored water, cool breeze, light waves and endless sun and only 12 appreciators on the beach while over 100 were only 200 yards away.
Kat went in for a swim, her first on this side of the Atlantic pond this Summer. We drank in the beauty, knowing we will be back soon with Brenda Lee, Kylian, Eddie, Red Dog, and Lucy.
We made our way back to the rental facility already planning our time here with Kat’s parents who will be visiting from Belgium this September.
We both decided that we will need our own Kayaks for next summer as well as two paddle boards.
As we sat on the tailgate of the truck eating our salads, we noticed all the out of state license plates in the parking lot.
There were far more out of state plates than in state, only proving once again that we don’t always appreciate what is in our own back yard because fish don’t know water is wet.
I hope you move beyond words of observation and ACT on your appreciations today, tomorrow, any day, but never someday.

Have you heard the conversation that goes like this.
Q: “Are you happy?”
A: “Yes”
Observation: “Then tell your face about it”
Just because we say the word grateful does not mean we are feeling grateful.
We’ve all been on the receiving end of empty comments about gratitude from complacent, otherwise preoccupied, casually unaware, others.
Maybe, if we are honest we can remember being the other.
Or
“Go for IT Gratitude”
Here is the story:
Last week I visited my good friend Spencer LaFlure and his wife Judy. They live in Athol NY within the Adirondack National Forest which is 6 million acres of land. All the other National Parks combined can fit within its borders.
This is where Spencer grew up and where he calls home and he is proud of it.
I went there to get away and “go for it” with my gratitude.
I brought Brenda Lee and Kylian along with us so they could go on a ranch vacation also.
I did not bring them to ride, drive, or train.
I brought them there because I’m grateful for them in my life.
I wanted them to hang out and be horses, to run, gallop, frolic and be with each other in the depth of nature.
While there, I said thank you to Spencer and Judy many times to acknowledge their gift to me and for offering their ranch experience to my wife Katleen, Brenda Lee and Kylian.
My “Go for IT” was seen in asking Spencer to show me his home, his land, his chosen place to live “In the Wild”.
I wanted to be the Witness of Spencer’s life work as my “GO for IT Gratitude”.
I witnessed, listened, and enjoyed and let him see my joy as he showed me his life.
We cruised Lake George where he and his father would swim 300 head of horses across as part of the dude ranch yearly chores.
We visited Gore Mountain where Spencer would teach and entertain skiers, and while there we bumped into his old friends.
We visited the Dude Ranch where Spencer stepped out his own and where he has his school of Advanced Whole Horse Dentistry.
All the while I had no need to say thank you. All I had to do was be witness to how his life was and where it is going now and show him my happiness in experiencing it all.
After saying goodbye and getting back to the rhythms of life at home, I reached out to both Judy and Spencer and let them know again how much it meant to me to give the gift of their life to those closest to me in my life.
And now I’m going to Go For IT and let him witness how this inspirational visit is unfolding in my life.
It may be our own ranch.
It may be letting him know how much closer Brenda Lee and Kylian are after their first vacation together.
It may be Katleen sending them 120 photos of the entire weekend.
It may be the smile I’m holding in my heart during our next phone conversation.
It will be so much more than just saying “thank you” as I show him the Nextness of his friendship in my life.
Thank you Spencer and Judy for sharing your life and inspiring this whispering.
Thank you Katleen for sharing the journey with me and capturing it in your beautiful photography.
Thank you Brenda Lee and Kylian for giving me reason larger than myself to create my life.
Thank you, who are reading this, for it is the thought of your witness, that inspires me to “Go For It”, and for that I am eternally grateful!!!
Acknowledge their gift and the let them see its Nextness in your life.
Show them what happens next after the gratitude acknowledgement.
It could be your happiness, your smile, your joy.
It could be your new state after receiving their gracious gift.
It could be your action of using their gift in your life and letting them witness its use.
Feel the Connection.

Create that change.

Before I begin, I want to make clear that I think that forgiveness is a powerful tool to help us let go of real and perceived past grievances of others toward us, us toward others and us toward ourselves.
Also let me be clear that I use the power of forgiveness daily to clear space in my life and heart.
Forgiveness does have some drawbacks that I experience when using it as the ONLY way of moving beyond what is and toward what matters.
While I’m in the process of forgiving, I tend to get hung up on three sticky points:
1. While I’m forgiving, I can easily lean toward self righteousness, as I perceive myself as the victim and the other as the oppressor.
2. While forgiving, my focus is on what happened, not what I want to happen.
3. While forgiving, I first realize that I have been blaming for too long which feels like shit and that is not the space I want to forgive from.
Forgiveness by itself is tough to get and keep going.
There is another big brother or sister to forgiveness that can really help get things moving in a better feeling direction.
The reason I say Kick Ass Kindness, especially when forgiving myself, is because I usually have resistance to what is best for me initially. It takes a loving kind act to take myself by the hand or by the hair kicking and screaming toward what matters most.
Sort of like sending me out to my first summer camp, baseball tryouts or even bodysurfing in the waves. At first I offered resistance and a wall of self consciousness. It always took the encouraging loving words of someone who cares, followed by a kick in the ass that was just enough of the push I needed to get me going.
“Only Kindness Matters”
Pause for a moment and read the lyrics from the Song “Hands” by Jewel
—————————-
“Hands”
If I could tell the world just one thing
It would be that we’re all OK
And not to worry ’cause worry is wasteful
And useless in times like these
I won’t be made useless
I won’t be idle with despair
I will gather myself around my faith
For light does the darkness most fear
My hands are small, I know
But they’re not yours, they are my own
But they’re not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
Poverty stole your golden shoes
It didn’t steal your laughter
And heartache came to visit me
But I knew it wasn’t ever after
We’ll fight, not out of spite
For someone must stand up for what’s right
‘Cause where there’s a man who has no voice
There ours shall go singing
My hands are small I know
But they’re not yours, they are my own
But they’re not yours, they are my own
I am never broken
In the end only kindness matters
In the end only kindness matters
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
My hands are small I know
But they’re not yours, they are my own
But they’re not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
My hands are small I know
But they’re not yours, they are my own
But they’re not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
We are never broken
We are God’s eyes
God’s hands
God’s mind
We are God’s eyes
God’s hands
God’s heart
We are God’s eyes
God’s hands
God’s eyes
We are God’s hands
We are God’s hands

So it is with our hearts, minds, eyes and hands that we can offer ourselves the kindness that the act of kindness offers to the giver and the receiver.
And in the act of kindness, forgiveness is For Giving.
Today I was listening to the 2014 Hay House World Summit’s interview with Michael J Chase.
I heard Michael say that Kindness is Love and Action.
This is where I want to go.
Yes, I want to be forgiving.
More, I want what I want to forgive to be better than before forgiveness was needed.
On Michael’s site you see “Kindness Matters” on the shirts.
At Release Your Inner HorsePower I’m always focused on moving others toward what matters, as they cling to old patterns that no longer serve.
This is where Kick Ass Kindness many times is the most loving, forgiving act I can do for myself or another.

Its July 24th and I’m coming to the end of the first round of the HorsePower Productivity Challenge. With only 6 more days to go, I’m already getting excited to continue with round two and to further my progress of habitualizing my life in line with my next.
Thats right, habitualizing my life and I’m ready, but that is not what this Whispering is about although at first it may seem so.
I read this quote last week and did not like it.
The second half of a man’s life is made up of nothing but the habits he has acquired during the first half.
Russian novelist (1821 – 1881)
What annoyed me the most about it was:
1/. It’s true.
2/. It doesn’t have to be.
3/. I was not consciously participating in most of my habit forming.
4/. There are many habits I wish to change.
5/. Many I’m not aware of yet.
6/. Some I wish to keep.
7/. Many I wish to create to make this quote untrue in my lifetime.
When I read the following quotes, I measured myself against them and came away wanting.
“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”
Watch my words, watch my thoughts, watch my words, watch my actions, watch my habits, watch my values, by now I’m feeling like my destiny is to watch, but I don’t feel like watching the my past habits, seen and unseen, there has got to be a better way!
“A man who can’t bear to share his habits is a man who needs to quit them.”
“The chains of habit are too weak to be felt until they are too strong to be broken.”
Ouch is all I can say, Samuel Johnson
And then a ray of hope from Samuel Smiles, this quote felt better and actually awoke a smile within me, no pun intended.
“Sow a thought, and you reap an act;
Sow an act, and you reap a habit;
Sow a habit, and you reap a character;
Sow a character, and you reap a destiny.”
This time pun intended.
As I begin to sow the habits of my choosing into my life so that my second half looks very different from the first, I’m first met with the challenge of deciding what habits I want to shape my life with.
Frodo: “I wish none of this had happened.”
Gandalf: “So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”
Whys are my intuitively sensed motivations!
Whys are my heartfelt directions.
Whys are sensed only and don’t need to make sense to be true.
As I begin my second round of HorsePower productivity, before I do my daily reading I will focus on my Whys.
Why do I want to be more productive?
Why do I want to create a better life?
Why do I want to explore, express and expand who I am with the time that has been given to me ?
I will listen quietly to the answers my heart and intuition offer me, and in the context of that daily inspired why, I will read each day of the “30 days of Agile Results” so they provide me with the productivity HorsePower I need to move toward my whys by habitualizing my life as a servant to that end.
So here is my plan for round 2:
Get Whys… Feel my intuition, Listen to my heart.
Be Smart…Develop habits that move me toward my Whys.
Become Wise…Continue to adjust and create new habits as I go and grow.
Let round 2 begin, I’m ready!

Go ahead, Put the Cart Before the Horse!!!
I remember reading a quote from Ray Hunt (A true horseman) written on an old barn wall in upstate New York owned by Spencer LaFlure, a horseman first class, horse dentist, and true friend. The quote went something like this:
“Know what happens before what happens and you will know what really happened”- Ray Hunt
I was brought back to this quote and the creation of the title of our movement to date, “Horses Know The Way Home – Feel the Connection” that was arrived at through much soul searching, time with Brenda Lee and in depth conversations with Jonathan Field, Mark Russell, and many others.
But what if there we more to it than that. What if there was a place beyond time and space where all creation takes place?
The place where “What happens before what happens”, takes place.
Today as I was listening to track two of the 2014 Hay House World Summit, I heard Amit Goswami describe such a place as real. Even more real than reality, actually the place where realities are created.
Amit Goswami has a Ph.D. in theoretical quantum physics. He has authored the following books: https://www.goodreads.com/author/list/176832.Amit_Goswami
In other words, he has dedicated his life to the study of “Things” and where they come from.
Amit Goswami, Ph.D. has proposed a theory of consciousness, rather than atoms, as the fundamental reality of the material world.
He suggests that it is in that place when we are with an idea before it has manifested and is the space where creation takes place.
Or the ultimate place where what happens before what happens happens.
In other words, creation needs our “Withness” in order to be complete.
Let me tell you one of the first times I felt this to the core of my being.
I was taking a riding lesson on Brenda Lee from a truly gifted artist of a teacher, she could paint a picture with her words that would allow my body to slip into the perfect position without my “Knowing”. She had learned from a protege of Sally Swift.
One day as she described my body as an ocean buoy that moved up and down on the waves of the ocean and in this case Brenda Lee was the ocean. She went on to say that the center buckle that the chains of the buoy were attached to was 8” below Brenda Lee’s spine.
As I imagine myself as a buoy, flowing, allowing and connected to the Oceans forces, she went on to explain that the portal or port hole that all communication between myself and Brenda Lee would go through was the area between my pubic and coccyx bones. (Speak though my butt).
I liked this because it helped me to relax and keep that portal open and soft as opposed to tight and restricted.
And so I did…
As I rode with this I felt a complete sense of oneness experienced as a lack of resistence.
I could sense myself and then IT happened.
I could sense that Brenda Lee was sensing back.
It was at this moment that she quoted her mentor.
“When we look in to the abyss, we notice the abyss is looking back.”
I was with Brenda Lee’s consciousness and she with mine but there was something more.
She was connected to that which connects us all and she was introducing me to IT, (IT = Inner Truth) though my senses.
She was bringing me home to the place where IT happens before IT happens.
I fell to her neck and sobbed like a baby.
Call it love
Call it oneness
Call it infinite light
My need or desire to call it, or name it, stayed clear so as not to insult IT.
She let me sense the wisdom of “Being With” , with every cell of my body and beyond, with my consciousness itself.
The rest is making sense of what first must be sensed.
And today leaders of science like Amit Goswami are discovering what Ray Hunt, Brenda Lee and nature, know of its own nature.
Feel the connection,
Release your Inner Horse Power

The previous thoughts, saying and quotes I have uttered many times when the events and circumstances of “THE DAY” ran my life rather than served me. All of them refer to the power of “THE DAY” to run our lives, rather than us creating our day. As I was reading a recent productivity blog posting from AE, I read the following expert that brought me right back to the power of THE DAY serving me and thus becoming My Day or for Apple fans iDay.
“Because they aren’t organized, they have no choice to respond to what life throws at them. Because they don’t have a system and haven’t told their day what to do, their day tells them what to do instead.” – Mike Schmitz
Over the past 30 years I have used and tested many systems and I’d like to share my TOP 10 most successful practices with you! This checklist is of my favorite rituals, systems and software that I use with satisfying regularity that help me create my day, that help me tell my day what to do.
Download my TOP 10 Productivity Practices that give me the Personal HorsePower I need to create HKTWH, expand it to Release your Personal HP, run a successful remodeling business, work out five days per week and spend quality time with my all my animals while happily sharing this life with my wife, family and friends, by telling my days what I want them to do for me.
Start telling your day what to do today…by downloading this now. I know that the thought of using new ways, getting familiar with supporting software and creating new patterns may seem like a lot. It was a lot to set it up initially but now it flows and delivers spectacular day after day where even the “Bad Days” are simple great days with the luster taken off. So let me save you the time, trial and errors of looking for al these tools. I feel so much enthusiasm about the power of these tools that I want to give them to you.
Well it is more like an asking, a creating, an allowing of possibilities that work for me while I work my way through my day. I hope this helps any of you to tell/ask your day to perform for you in ways that serve you. Now that your day is serving you, it has one question for you…..What would you like me todo for YOU!

Try it now, with me. Take a deep breath and scan your body for tension, relaxation, discomfort, comfort, recurring thoughts, how you are breathing, … Sense it and describe it as best you can.
I use these 6 P’s daily! Really! AND I use them to anticipate, to empower me and to help engage my Inner HorsePower. The place where I do this most is in the gym: right before a set that will challenge me to go beyond what I know. I fully feel for the first 5 P’s and release all I have with a loud “POP”! And it is mind-blowing time after time to catch myself in the act of doing my next set and feel my full potential flow.
