Set a Mark that Matters

On your Mark…Get Set…Go!!!

It’s how we began all races as children or began adventures and journeys.
And then we were off to explore, play, race as fast and as best we could.

Only as children we were wise beyond our years.

We knew that we knew what our mark was before we began. We could not comprehend beginning an adventure without knowing what our “Mark” was nor whether we would enjoy any such journey or race.

If it wasn’t fun to think about, we did not proceed.

We were also very specific. We wanted to know what the rules were, what the outcome was and where was the finish line. We might have been a little loose and creative with he rules but we did not proceed till we kinda knew them.

Somewhere along the way, many of us have lost our mark:

We no longer have our joy, happiness, fun and community as the primary reasons for Marks.
We willingly substitute others’ marks for our own.
We continue to complacently conform to other’s marks without knowing how this helps us on our mark.

When the Bible was written, the word “Sin” was an archery term, meaning “Off the Mark”.

A sin was simply information needed to make an adjustment toward your Mark, toward your Bullseye, toward your Center.

Without a defined “Mark”, all these arrows are on target and have no need for adjustment.

Mark

Do you know what your “Mark” is?

Once you do, then all those arrows that are off will provide you with the information you need to get back on your mark. If not, then they are all sins and will come with the other sins of confusion, complacency, conformity.

When we have our “Mark” we can “Get Set” and “Commit” to what matters to us and begin to manifest what matters into the matter that matches.

The funny thing about “Marks” is their need for fun and better feelings.

The center of every mark is a better feeling.

One thing I have learned from horses is that they do not only want a focus to follow; they want a Feeling Infused Focus to follow.

The same goes for your mark:

Many times the center won’t make sense.
You will only be albe to sense it.
Your mark may be calling you with a desire, a wanting, a hope, a yearning to come home to what matters to you and to what you want to express.

Feel for your mark first, sense it, then and only then begin to make sense of it.

Before you begin, remember one more thing that horses have taught me from the accepting, non judgmental point of view:

You are and always were innocent.
Your missed shots were just that, they never were moral issues.

So from your free, innocent, joy, collect your misfires, apologize for any arrows that went into the neighbors yard and accidentally caused damage and set your new mark.

Set a mark that matters.
If you were to start over today, knowing what you know now, what will you do differently.
Start there and set you “Mark”, “Get Set” and “Go”!

Go forth with a feeling infused focus that feels better.

Feel the Connection,
